Government go-ahead for solar farms in face of opposition

Ministers have green-lighted three large-scale solar farms in the face of local opposition, having promised to make planning decisions in the ‘national interest'.

Ministers have green-lighted three large-scale solar farms in the face of local opposition, having promised to make planning decisions in the ‘national interest'.

The projects will cover 2,837 acres across Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Suffolk, drawing objections from councils over the loss of agricultural land, and the impact on nature and the landscape.
