Government warned over materials crisis

Businesses and environmental groups warns the Government must create a dedicated office to deal with the raw material crisis.

The Government must create a dedicated office to deal with the growing raw materials crisis, a coalition of businesses and environmental groups has warned.

A joint letter sent to ministers by organisations including the manufacturers' lobby EEF and Friends of the Earth claims that unless Whitehall develops an ambitious strategy to keep valuable raw materials circulating within the economy, the consequences for UK industry would be severe.
