There has been less cash to splash this festive season, making it a tough time for many.

People are entering 2013 with concerns about mounting debts, just as local councils – which have now unwrapped the Government's Christmas 'gift' of reducing their overall spending power by between 1.7% and 8.8% in 2013-14 – are increasingly worried about becoming 'financially unviable'.
