'Handful' of councils at risk of Section 114 notices

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has concerns over a ‘handful' of councils' finances, MPs have heard.

Local government minister Simon Clarke said there were ‘serious concerns' about a ‘handful' of councils in terms of issuing Section 114 notices amid coronavirus financial pressures as he appeared before the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee.
