Senior Hastings BC councillors will be urged next week to ‘bring in and embed more stringent financial controls and accountability to urgently reduce spending'.

A leaked Local Government Association corporate peer challenge report last month warned the council may be forced to issue a section 114 notice this financial year unless it makes massive financial cuts.
