WORKFORCE

Head of Customer Services

COMMUNITIES DIRECTORATE

We are an ambitious, progressive organisation that strives to provide modern and responsive public services to the residents of Lincolnshire. We are a large diverse employer that recognises and values the contribution of our workforce. Proud of our achievements we look to strengthen our current workforce in a range of service areas.

Customer focus should be at the heart of everything you do!

This responsibility plays an essential role in any large organisation due to its impact on the whole service. It is frequently the first contact individuals have with an organisation so it is vitally important that it is a positive experience for the customer and that they will come back again.

With Local Government services, people do not usually have a choice on who the service provider is; however this is starting to change with some services now being delivered differently and through other providers. Our authority is now looking at how we wish to deliver our services in the future, to meet both service needs and future budget challenges. We are also looking at how these decisions will impact on the Customer Service Centre and how to engage with our customers and citizens, particularly in light of the various access channels now available.

You would therefore be joining us at a critical stage and would have the ability to both influence and manage the future. You would be responsible for managing our Customer Service Centre, which was established in 2005, and is one of the best in the country. Responsible for nearly two hundred staff, a £3-4 million budget and overall performance, you will need to demonstrate operational experience of managing a Customer Service Centre.

This role requires excellent leadership and management skills as well as a passion for the delivery of quality customer services. However, we are also looking for someone who has the vision to see how the service can be developed and who is not afraid to challenge the status quo. You will also support initiatives with other central government agencies and public authorities, within the East Midlands region; as such we are keen to receive applications from both the private and public sector.

If you have five years' relevant experience in a customer facing role, two years' senior management experience in a contact centre environment, a demonstrable track record of success and you can demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent customer care in a constantly changing environment we will be pleased to hear from you.

For an informal discussion, once you have viewed the application pack online, please contact Steve Willis, Assistant Director, Environment, Planning and Customer Services on Lincoln (01522) 554848.

Closing Date midnight Wednesday 27 February 2013. Assessment Centre 18 March 2013. Interview Date 19 March 2013.

All shortlisted candidates will need to verify their eligibility to work in the UK at interview.

Here at Lincolnshire County Council we want our workforce to reflect the make up of the community we serve. Therefore we welcome all applications irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, belief, sexual orientation, age or disability. We consider ourselves to be a family friendly employer, and offer flexible working patterns.
