Head of Transformation at Bournemouth

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced programme manager with a track record in achieving business benefits and delivering to schedule to join Bournemouth Borough Council as Head of Transformation. Reporting to the Service Director for Strategic Services you will take responsibility for the overall management and delivery of the Councils Transformation Efficiency and Change programme which aims to enhance service delivery across all council services whilst achieving significant efficiency savings over the next seven years.

You will work closely with the Leader of the Council, Cabinet and the Executive team to ensure that projects within the programme are effectively integrated and aligned to achieve maximum benefits; you will manage links and dependencies to resolve programme conflicts, work closely with partners and suppliers to ensure effective resourcing and ensure that the organisation is ready for change. You will act as an advisor and coach to project SROs and programme board members and you will lead the central PPMO and Business Improvement teams and provide line management for the councils Change Manager.

This is a critical role in the delivery of the programme. As well as the technical and professional background in MSP and PRINCE2 methodologies, you will have substantial experience in leading a major change programme consisting of diverse projects with multiple stakeholders, you will be politically astute with the ability to secure results through negotiation and influence and all levels of the organisation. You will have the ability to gain the trust of stakeholders and to lead a team of professionals in the delivery of the programme.
