Head of Assets and Leisure

Salary package up to £53,769 per annum. Full time.

Reporting directly to the Corporate Leadership Team, this is an exciting opportunity for two dynamic team leaders with experience of successful partnership working, strategy development and project delivery to join the newly constituted senior management team in each of these key roles.

Leading the property, leisure and coastal defence teams, this post will have responsibility for managing a diverse property portfolio. Providing expert professional and commercial property advice at the highest level, you will develop the Council's asset strategy to drive financial, social and community benefits, and support the regeneration of our market towns.

Improving the performance of our assets in delivering sport and leisure activities will be a key element of the role, as will the commissioning and procurement of leisure contracts and coastal defence schemes. This is more than just a property role, you must be creative in your thinking, engage effectively with communities and embrace change.

Leading the economic development, strategic housing, and planning policy functions, this post will be key to delivering the Council's priorities of job creation and housing delivery. You will be creative and innovative in your thinking, developing integrated strategies whilst championing the delivery of projects that will strengthen the local economy and regenerate our market towns.

Working closely with communities you will develop excellent relationships with key stakeholders and positively engage with our communities in seeking to accommodate new growth and development. In our coastal communities you will work collaboratively in taking forward an integrated approach to coastal zone management.
