Health and social care could account for half of all public spending in 50 years time, according to a new report by The King's Fund.

Health and social care could account for half of all public spending in 50 years time, according to a new report by The King's Fund.

The report shows that the UK currently spends around 9% of its national income on health and social care, which is twice as much as 50 years ago. Changes to the population, medical advances and increases in wealth are likely to increase this figure further.
