Everyone loves a director of public health. We may have had the nation outside their homes of a Thursday evening, offering a round of applause for carers, but the DPHs are among the unsung heroes of the COVID era.

But one particular DPH may have been somewhat startled to be told just how much they were loved by a colleague on a Teams event last week, in a gushing outburst of adoration.
