Highland Council is to ask for an extension to the Scottish Government's consultation on its planned National Care Service.

The scope of the proposals put forward at Holyrood last week – billed by social care minister Kevin Stewart as the 'biggest public sector reform for decades' – caught many by surprise, encompassing not just adult social care but children's services, justice, health, prisons, alcohol and drug services, and mental health.
