HMJ: Care home deaths up

The number of deaths of care home residents in 2020 increased by 18.5% in England compared to 2019, according to official figures.

The Office for National Statistics said dementia and Alzheimer's disease were the highest leading cause of deaths in both male and female care home residents in 2020, followed by COVID-19.
