The house that promises built

Bob Neill is taking Labour's newly-announced spending proposals with a pinch of salt.

It's a story that probably went unnoticed by the vast majority of people, but all eyes in Westminster were fixed on the two 'Eds' last week, as they delivered their much-trailed speeches on reforming the economy and tackling Britain's excessive welfare bill.

This was Labour's big moment to set out its stall for 2015 and give voters a glimpse of what the party's policy wonks have been up to for the past two years.
