Income tax and VAT devolution in London's sights

The capital’s councils should be handed a slice of income tax and VAT, the interim report of the second London Finance Commission has suggested.

The capital's councils should be handed a slice of income tax and VAT, the interim report of the second London Finance Commission has suggested. 

While the report describes 100% business rate retention as a ‘good initial step forward' it claimed further taxes would provide cash for infrastructure and further devolution of public services.
