Infrastructure is crucial to maximising sustainable growth

Rishi Sunak’s administration will need to grow the economy quickly, and he could start on an almost blank slate with the planning reforms agenda, says Joanna Killian.

While it feels like the only certainty is uncertainty when it comes to the national policy agenda – and its impacts on local government – there are still areas the Association of County Chief Executives and County Councils' Network (CCN) will continue to seek to influence.

Before Boris Johnson left office, the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities was looking at planning reforms, and it's safe to say Rishi Sunak could start almost on a blank slate in this agenda.
