On 15 November, the Localism Bill received Royal Assent and became the Localism Act.

This was an important day for those of us who believe in the importance of empowering local communities and citizens to take the initiative and make a difference. In particular, it was good to see the Right to Challenge and the Right to Buy provisions survive the Lords, relatively unscathed.
