Islamic leaders have demanded communities secretary Eric Pickles clarifies his letter to English mosques urging them to do more to help tackle extremism.

The Muslim Council of Britain said it wanted Mr Pickles to clarify his comments in a letter sent to more than 1,000 mosques.
