New joint targeted inspections for local agencies that ‘fail to work together effectively' have been called into question days after they were announced.

A press release by Ofsted last week said it would work with the Care Quality Commission, Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Probation as part of joint targeted area inspections (JTAI) to be introduced from the autumn.
