Labour’s shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves has pledged to spend £2.7bn freezing council tax for a year.

Labour's shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves has pledged to spend £2.7bn freezing council tax for a year.

Ms Reeves said the policy would be funded by extending the windfall tax on the ‘huge profits' being made by the oil and gas giants, which would raise more than £10bn over two years.
