Local government’s dormant vehicle for lending councils cash was boosted today after announcing details of its first municipal bond with Lancashire CC.

Local government's dormant vehicle for lending councils cash was boosted today after announcing details of its first municipal bond with Lancashire CC.

The bond, which is expected to be issued towards the end of this month allowing Lancashire to borrow up to £300m over the next few years, will come just months after the Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) controversially hiked its interest rates by one per cent, throwing a number of council investments into doubt.
