District and borough councils in Leicestershire have offered the county council an olive branch over the issue of reorganisation.

Leaders of the county's seven district and borough councils today issued a joint statement proposing to work together with County Hall to look at options for reorganisation, including district councils operating in a combined authority or creating multiple unitaries.
