LEP numbers may fall after May election

The number of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) should fall after May’s General Election, communities secretary Eric Pickles has suggested.

The number of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) should fall after May's General Election, communities secretary Eric Pickles has suggested.

Mr Pickles said he would be happy for some of the existing 39 LEPs to merge after the election, but did not specify which ones or how many he would like to see in the end.
