The Local Government Association (LGA) has defended councils in England after research found spending on some services had fallen by as much as 40% since 2010.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has defended councils in England after research found spending on some services had fallen by as much as 40% since 2010.

An investigation by the Press Association found money for many local amenities, including parks and libraries, had been cut by as much as quarter.
