Local Government Association vice chair Richard Kemp has received a CBE in the Queen's birthday Honours.

Cllr Kemp, who is chair of the LGAs Lib Dem group, will step down from the LGA this summer. He has been one of the fiercest critics of the Department for Communities and Local Government since communities secretary Eric Pickles took up his post last year.
