The current approach to preventing extremism in London is ‘top down' and makes it ‘difficult to engage citizens,' a report by the London Assembly has found.

Chair of the assembly's police and crime committee, Joanne McCartney, said attempts to deliver a ‘strong counter-narrative which condemns violent extremism' through the Government's Prevent strategy had been lacking.
