As International Women’s Day 2022 approaches, it’s timely to reflect the progress being made as well as the challenges, barriers and biases still being faced by women in the workplace, says Alison Griffin.

In local government, one of our strengths is that we are bought in to the power of diverse leadership at all levels.

While individual local authorities may be at different stages on their journey, we are all taking action to build a workforce and political representation that draws on the full spectrum of talent of the communities we serve.
