The sector and experts have argued that the announcement that an extra £900m will be made available to tackle the adult social care crisis will not be enough.

Communities secretary Sajid Javid said councils would be allowed to increase the adult social care precept by up to 3% next year and the year after, potentially raising more than £650m.
