Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that youth unemployment is at its highest level since records began in 1992.
Currently, 20.6% of 16 to 24-year-olds are looking for jobs. This is a stark figure, particularly when it is seen in the context of statistics released late last year showing 15.6% (938,000) of young people were categorised as Neet – not in education, employment or training.
