Looking at the bigger picture within local government

Swale BC chief, Abdool Kara, makes an evolutionary leap into natural selection for local government.

They say ants can't see elephants. Because they cannot control or influence what elephants do, ants' brains have evolved to not expend any resources on worrying about pachyderm pursuits.

Instead, they just get on with their own business and deal with whatever comes along and, to be fair, this approach has worked well for them for more than 100 million years.
