Minister vows to 'revitalise Scottish local government'

New Scottish local government minister Kevin Stewart has pledged to build on devolution of powers to councils and overhaul engagement with local authorities.

New Scottish local government minister Kevin Stewart has pledged to build on devolution of powers to councils and overhaul engagement with local authorities.

He said: ‘Most local authorities are represented by COSLA and while it is Scottish government policy that we only conduct negotiations through COSLA I am keen to also communicate with the SLGP who represent the remaining four local authorities.'
