When you jump from an aeroplane, the first stage of freefall is shockingly noisy as the wind rushes past your ears at 120mph, your body is put under extreme pressure as gravity pulls you to planet Earth, and the contorted expressions on your face are priceless.
The calculations and positioning have to be precise, if you are to succeed to the second phase. As you pull the ‘chute, the noise stops in an instant, the acceleration of the freefall doesn't jolt you as you might expect, but gradually slows you down. Now you have time to look around you, enjoy the view and appreciate what is probably as close to flying as one might experience. Dare I say it, you might even be considering your next jump.
