The National Planning Policy Framework could be a move in the right direction

East Hampshire faces a double whammy of issues on centrally-imposed housing targets, says Gill Kneller - the targets themselves and a reduced area to build them. It finally feels like the Government has listened to concerns, she adds.

Centrally-imposed housing targets simply don't work for local communities and finally it feels like central Government is listening.

Our council leader has been lobbying about changing the imposed targets for some time because they don't take local issues and needs into account. East Hampshire faces a double whammy of issues – the imposed targets and a reduced area to build them.
