Outsourced waste collections are achieving higher recycling rates than in-house services, new research has suggested.

The report by Eunomia Research, which was commissioned by the Environmental Services Association (ESA), the trade association representing the UK's resource and waste management industry, also said outsourced services missed fewer collections though insourced services received, on average, 24% fewer complaints.
