'Partial reset' plan for business rate retention is mooted

A ‘compromise’ for how 100% business rates retention will work is close to being agreed by local government representatives.

Members of the systems design working group appear to be leaning towards favouring a ‘partial reset' in which individual councils would retain half of the growth in business rates income that they had achieved during the previous five years.
