A party fit for a king

Stephen Evans reflects on how the Windsor & Maidenhead RBC rose to the occasion to ensure the national coronation concert at Windsor Castle was a success, and that a weekend of celebrations went smoothly.

Whenever you take up a new role at a local authority, it is always a busy time, but I do seem to have a knack of starting just before a major event.

I became chief executive of Norwich City Council a few weeks before the pandemic and started at the Windsor & Maidenhead LBC two weeks before the borough's recent local elections and – two days later – the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III, with the coronation concert at Windsor Castle.
