After many happy years at Hertfordshire CC I will be leaving to join the Local Government Association (LGA) as its deputy chief executive. 

I am delighted to have been appointed to take on this exciting role at a pivotal time for local government. With the downward slope of the austerity graph as a backdrop, the sector needs to work to address a huge range of pressures and ensure opportunities are seized.
