Perform reform

In the aftermath of the Spending Review, the LGA’s Rewiring Public Services offers a forthright plan of action. Now it’s up to the sector to work together to make reform a reality, as Richard Crouch explains

There is no doubt that the recent Spending Review announcement has stirred up quite a hornet's nest in the public service arena and most notably in local government, which of course has once again taken the brunt of the cuts.

As most commentators have said, the majority of the Government's announcements were of no surprise and so the stirrings it has caused is probably more to do with the loss of hope that it might not be quite as bad as predicted or perhaps it is just anger that the inevitable has happened.
