A senior public health official has voiced his ‘regret' at government cuts to health prevention spending.

Duncan Selbie, chief executive of Public Health England (PHE), said he was ‘acutely conscious' of local government concerns about the future of the public health grant and had argued ‘fiercely' for it ahead of the Spending Review.
