Eric Pickles has sent consultants and the police into Tower Hamlets to investigate allegations of fraud, poor financial management and governance failures, it has emerged this morning. 

The communities' secretary claims to have ‘serious concerns' after receiving documents and following the Panorama investigation earlier this week.
