Under-fire Tower Hamlets LBC will fight communities secretary Eric Pickles' plans to intervene in the running of the council, The MJ understands.

The council is thought to be convinced it has the ability to turn around issues with its governance despite a damning report by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) inspectors.
