Communities secretary, Eric Pickles, has written to Muslim organisations in the wake of criminal attacks on Mosques and an Islamic school.

Communities secretary, Eric Pickles, has written to Muslim organisations in the wake of criminal attacks on Mosques and an Islamic school.

In the open letter, Mr Pickles outlines the steps being taken by the Government to tackle extremism and stamp out anti-Muslim hatred.

In the letter he states: hopes the letter will show ‘This practical expression of support, by people of other faiths and none, clearly shows that we won't let extremists from any community divide us. These are attacks on all of us and in our most challenging moments we find greater unity with each other.'

The letter follows criminal attacks on Mosques in Tipton and Walsall, and arson attacks on a Mosque in Muswell Hill and an Islamic school in Chislehurst.
