We still need to plan for the medium-term

Adele Taylor explains why a medium-term financial strategy is still important for councils, despite the funding unknowns after 2020.

An interesting question was put to me the other day: why bother with a medium-term financial strategy when funding for local government is changing dramatically from 2020 onwards?

As councils, we have to understand what is driving our service needs and demands, as well as the interplay and relationships between services.
