More work needed on planning policy

Steve Atkinson welcomes the new national planning policy framework with some reservations.

Planning is different from other council services in that it affects not only the present, but the future - in a very big way.

Given the understandable drive from the coalition Government for economic and housing growth, it is equally understandable that planning is very much in the spotlight; and will remain there for some time to come.
