Working with the Solace foundation on the use of evidence in policy-making, I am not so naïve to believe that sufficient compelling evidence would reduce decision-making to a technical exercise – there has to be a place for ‘politics' to play out.

I do believe in making decisions in light of the best evidence that is reasonably available.
