I recently had the privilege of taking part in a Local Government Association (LGA) peer review. It is an excellent way of learning and developing and I recommend it to colleagues, either as a reviewer or a host.
The process reviews the organisation through five standard lenses: understanding of local context and priority setting; leadership of place; organisational leadership and governance; financial planning and viability; and capacity to deliver. This is supplemented by any specific areas that the hosts would like a view on from the review team.
