The Local Audit and Accountability Bill pulls together many localist strands and may also demonstrates a bit of double devolution in action writes Bob Neill MP

The Local Audit and Accountability Bill.  Let's face it; as far as titles go, this one isn't likely to get pulses racing (or at least I hope not).

It is fair to say that not everyone agreed with certain aspects of the Bill.  But even the Labour Party now recognises that the abolition of the Audit Commission is a fait accompli and that we need to move forward with a new system of local audit that commands confidence.
