Providing citizens with a better digital service through an alliance

High Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands alliance’s digital transformation solution has put the councils ahead of the game when it came to delivering all of their services online during the pandemic, says Karen Lomas.

Digital services have permeated into everything we interact with, but transformation is usually driven by demand, and when you live in a rural community with a slightly older demographic, encouraging digital change can be a challenge.

High Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands is the alliance of High Peak BC and Staffordshire Moorlands DC. We have around 98,000 residents in each authority, with 48,000 properties under the care of the councils. Having a digital solution that could support both councils in communicating to each of these residents, while allowing them to access services online, significantly moved up the agenda for both councils in 2016.
