Providing support to volunteers

Sir Stephen Bubb says the recent Olympic games have shown councils need to be doing a lot more to drive up citizen engagement and volunteering.

A good friend of mine has been volunteering at the Olympic Games. One of the ‘game makers', as they have so cutely been named.

Both the public and policy-makers seem to have really been noticing the difference volunteers can make throughout the games. A good time, then perhaps, to ask what can councils learn from this?
