The Government will be considering Community Wealth Funds in its consultation on the future beneficiaries of dormant assets funding. Rayhan Haque explains why such a fund is part of the ‘secret sauce’ to make levelling up a success.

In his first major speech since leaving Government, the levelling up supremo Andy Haldane declared we need a ‘new model of governance' that reorients ‘decision-making away from the centre and towards local leaders'.

He argued that these leaders aren't just to be found in local government, but in charities and community groups. For him, this is a key ingredient in the ‘secret sauce' to make levelling up a success.
