Readdressing reoffending

Not enough is being done to prevent a system that sets people up to fail as soon as they are released from prison, says Bob Neill. It’s time for a holistic, multi-agency approach, done with local government involvement.

Penning this I feel a pang of déjà vu. Almost three years ago I wrote for The MJ advocating the widely accepted merits of justice devolution, optimistic that change was on its way.

One year later – after the referendum had taken place – I wrote another piece, on that occasion, lamenting the lack of progress made in the intervening 12 months.
